Penile enhancement?! I'm sure glad ol' Angie Sandwich isn't still a
subscriber on this list or we'd be all in the midst of a full-scale
flame war for sure!
Seriously, Les is exactly right about the advice and direction you'll
get at fly shops. The ones I visit regularly at are all staffed by
helpful, knowledgeable fellow flyfishers who are more than willing to
share their experience and knowledge because frankly, that's what
keeps guys like me coming back.
Fly shops have bills to pay just like any other business and I have
no quarrel with their right to earn a profit. However, some (not all,
but enough) will tend to favor the higher-priced gear with a healthy
markup that'll deliver a nice, positive cash-flow pop to their bottom
line.
Let your budget and common sense be your guides - no $600 fly rod
will ever catch twice as many fish as a $300 one. It might take you a
bit longer to find the $300 rod, but then you'll be able to afford a
reel, line, waders and vest as well.
