a fishing buddy was over & fished the methow
last monday and ran into the fish counter. he was rather surprised and a little
concerned when the counter told him that more native are lost because of the
c&r guys than the meat guys.
He claimed that they only catch 1 or 2 marked fish
and leave but the c&r guys catch fish all day long, plus a lot of
natives, so even though the mortality rate is normally lower when everyone
catches an equal number in the methow the c&r guys are catching so many more
than the meat guys that the mortality rate is much higher for them and this
includes the natives and the closure dates
are on a formula based on the number of fish caught & released.
is this true or just a bunch of hot air from
someone that is misinformed?
