Eudora Probs

I am attempting to get Eudora 5.1 running on my daughter's 5300. 
Each time I install it and attempt to get it up it tells me of a type 
3 error.
I have tried several copies from various CDs, so I assume it is a 
setting or something required is missing?????

5300 (Director's Edition) OS 8.1, 48Ram
Any ideas from the group?
