i had the same problem, the disk would not mount on the 475
but if you go to the iMac and try to mount the 475 disk it should mount.

1) File sharing is on, on both machines and set up
2) Apple talk is on on both machines
3) Click on Appleshare in the chooser window
4) Click on the 475 highlight in the right hand side of the chooser window
good luck

Subject: mac os 7.5.5 to 9 or X

Hi I have recently upgraded my Kids old LC475 to a snow Imac, the
LC475 ( non PPC) is running 7.5.5 and the kids want to copy a bunch
of files to the new computer ( standard 9/OSX install). I cant seem
to make the two talk to each other ( via an x-over cable in thier
ethernet ports) using AppleTalk or Tcpip.

Does anyone have any ideas how i can make it work, I dont have a
network or hub just a simple x-over cable and whatever software comes
standard with the machines ( no fancy extras or freeware ( yet!!!)).

Hugh
