Greg, were you aware that if you click on the Finder icon (or the icon of any application) in the Dock it will bring all the windows of that process to the front. (as opposed to clicking on one window of an App or Finder which only brings that window to the front)

Also, if you control-click (or right-click or hold the mouse down for 2 seconds) on the Finder icon or an Application's icon in the Dock, a menu pops up allowing you to choose any of the currently open windows of that app (or the Finder).

Also, if you hold down the Option key when you click on any Dock icons, the current app gets hidden, and brings the one you clicked on (with all of it's windows) to the front.

Otherwise, get DockFun from versiontracker.com which amongst other things (like multiple docks) allows you to assign keyboard shortcuts to individual apps (which also brings all their windows to the front).

Hope some of these options help.

then switch back to the finder to perfom the task)

This might sound petty, but in programs like golive & photoshop i am
constantly moving between finder & the app to add files. (In OS 9, as
soon as you change to the finder, all windows come to the front)
