About a month or so ago a single white spot appeared on the screen of my now 16 month old iBook (roughly in the position of the one on the left of the screens in Alwi's pictures). Anyone else seen this on either their existing iBook or TiBook?

i haven't noticed the white spot syndrome but the Ti-book screen is certainly subject to abrasion from the keyboard and the margins of the trackpad when closed and being carried about - there is certainly contact between the screen & keyboard etc. my screen suffered a vertical wear line from contact with the left margin of the trackpad within a month or so; it's only visible when the screen is off but nevertheless...

i have heard that folk are using thin chamois over the upper case when the top is closed; i find that an A4 sheet of paper is adequate :-)

probably more irritating (literally) was the need to replace the upper case when wear of the paint coat of the Ti casing allowed current leakage when the Ti-book was powered from the AC adaptor - v unpleasant on the inside of the wrist!
