Hi Paul

If you open your image in Photosghop or Image Ready and go to
File>Save for Web. Click on the Image Size tab and enter the
proportions you require (100x100). In the right hand image at the
bottom left there is file size info, if you keep your eye on that
while adjusting the Quality slider on the right hand side of the
window you will be able to get the file size to 40Kb using the
slider. Then click save.
