It is often possible to bypass this restriction by using SMTP with an authentication scheme and (usually) SSL/TLS. Many ISPs permit your mail client to log in with SMTP as well as POP3/IMAP, using the same username and password. Not all mail clients and ISPs support it, and not all will relax the IP-range sender restrictions because you authenticate. Nonetheless, it's worth a try. Craig Ringer
