Hi all

A friend of mine has a 233 iMac which went kaput a while back (I sold it to her).
Black screen of death.
The power light comes on, you hear the machine starting but no display.
Someone on this list some time ago suggested it was a 'logic board' or something to do with the display powersupply, this is out of my league really.

Lucky she doesnt always take my advice, I advised not buying a battery for it:

 hey there

well i got a battery for it.... was only $9 so worth a try....
put it in, finally got it all back together (ever tried to replace a
crab shell????)
and turned it on......BLING,.... light came on monitor and
keyboard..it went bling...and lived for 5 seconds....then died,,,,,,,

turned it on again this morning (in case the magical fairies had
come during the night....) and BLING.... it lived... for 5 seconds
again...

does this tell us anything more?????

prob not but worth an ask hehehee

coz im goin away again i dont really have the cash to fix it just
yet...and am thinking getting adsl is next priority...then the imac
sorted....then.... then....

 THANKS

Kim

Does this give anyone ideas?
