I need to read files (not applications) on my iBook G4 OS10.3 from my
Graphite G4 OS8.6. Should I use an Ethernet cable or a Firewire cable. I
have mirrored the Studio Display moniter from the Graphite G4 which means
this computer does't have a moniter. Any suggestions welcome before I
purchase an expensive Firewire cable. Regards, Rick

If you want to use both computers at the same time, you should hook them up via ethernet.

If you don't want to go through the motions of setting up file sharing over ethernet, you should use Firewire target disk mode.

If you want to get stuff off one of the machines without having to connect a monitor, then you probably want to boot it in Firewire target disk mode and copy files off that way.

Have fun,
Shay (Who finds he can never have enough Firewire cables)
