Tiger: Apple Mail badge

Hi,

With Tiger, does anyone have a problem whereby the red `badge' does not
appear in the Mail dock icon when new messages have arrived? I.e. you
are not visually notified of new mail, even though it's sitting in the
INBOX of your only account, and "include when automatically checking for
new mail" is enabled?
