I'm guessing no one here is going to be able to help you without a lot more detail on the exact problem. > Why is it so difficult to connect an Airport Extreme Base Station to a > G4 12" PB 2004 with a 802.11G wireless card. I have this exact setup and the connection between PB and base station has never missed a beat. It's not an intrinsically complicated thing to do, so it seems something atypical has gone wrong in your case. > Westnet whom I recommended to my daughter as a Mac helpful broadband > provider has advised that they have no expertise re Mac setup (one > technician's comments after a 30 minute conversation). Is her broadband working when connected directly to the ADSL modem by ethernet (not through the base station?) Does the PB connect to the base station at all? What happens when she tries to connect wirelessly? (in detail), with error messages, exact configurations in the Airport Admin Utility and your Network Preferences all need to be looked at if it's software. Have you tested it with other wireless base stations? Have you tested the card with a different machine? Is it plugged in properly? It could be a simple hardware malfunction. > The printer connects instantly but the connection to web seems > impossible. Is the printer connected via USB, ethernet, through the base station, or other? I'm guessing that if you get nowhere by remote control, paying a macgeek to come over and troubleshoot would be cheaper than jumping ship and encountering the much more complicated networking issues on "the other side" (in my experience), but each to their own.
