Hi Michael
Another thing to try is a reinstall of the 10.4.7 Combo Update. I'd download
it from here:-
<http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/>
Direct link to 10.4.7 Combo PPC Update
<http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1047comboppc.html>
Direct link to 10.4.7 Combo Intel Update
<http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1047combointel.html>
You can install this over the top of what is already there.
(I've had something happen once before on a computer, where something
strange happened with the install, and the second install fixed it!
Computers eh!) :o)
Once installed, repair permissions.
Also see if you can through in some DNS settings into Network system
Preferences
(system Preferences - Network - Edit your current configuration - Go to the
TCP/IP tab, about halfway down is DNS servers. (here you can put a set of 4
digits from your ISP)
I notice you're with Westnet so your DNS settings would be as follows:-
203.21.20.20 (hit return)
203.10.1.9
(Click Apply now).
Close everything, restart, take a depth breath and see how it goes. ;o)
Hope that works!
Kind Regards
Daniel
