Hi, I've been using an external Lacie drive for some time,
connecting via SMB.
Recently I've had a file that appeared to have a bad sector in it,
but now I cannot connect to the entire disk.
The message I get from the Finder is:
The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in
"smb://laciedrive/mydrive" could not be read or written. (Error
code -36)
The Lacie drive is connected to our network via Ethernet. I am
connecting to to it using smb
smb://laciedrive/mydrive
Have tried rebooting the drive and reconnecting.
Anyone recognise what is happening here? Is it likely I have a
faulty file or drive?
Glenn.
Lacie drives are known to suffer power problems . You could check
the power pack is plugged in properly ,
and try a substitute if you can access one.
