Thanks Bob.

Well that was not much help was it ! Sorry , I had not followed the link ,
just relied on Apple to have it " right "

Try this approach then :

<http://www.apple.com/au/support/service/help/warrantycheck/ apprecords.html>

I don't have an Applecare agreement to try out on it !
Please let me know how you make out

Bob

PS : It gives a form to be filled in and sent off .

Any other ideas anyone? Otherwise I can post the Apple discussion groups.

Cheers

Jack, thanks for the tip about enrolling.

I paid for AppleCare (mainly due to my experience with my Mac's
breaking
down in one form or another within three years and the associated
extortionate repair bills) a while back, but how do you enrol? I've
just
been to the Apple Australia web site, and found the AppleCare
section, but
it seems to be all about buying, not about enrolling.

Cheers, Steven

There is a link on this page that may help you :-

Hi All,

Something very unusual [for a Mac] has happened! It blew up!

Well, I might be using a bit of artistic embellishment there, but
something went bang!

My guess and hope is that it is a capacitor in the PCU.

I've been in touch with Apple and finally sorted out my AppleCare
Protection Plan.

Handy tip: Always return the Enrolment Card in a timely manner!

If you do as I did and leave it until something went 'pop', you'll
most likely have to dig up your proof of purchase as well.

Don't assume as I did that just because you've paid for it and they
have your details, that you are automatically enrolled ;(

Now, my question for the list is, 'Which AppleCentre' should I
entrust with the warranty job? Experiences with efficiency and
timeliness, please.

Best, jack
