Hello Wamugers
I was wondering if anyone is with Bigpond and can tell me how they
are with
their service and support especially for Mac users.
I have regularly been hounded by Telstra over the years to go back
to them
with my broadband and home phone but they have never been
competitive until
now. The deal they are offering me now will save me about $40.00 a
month
with unlimited free local calls.
Thanks in Advance.

I'm with Telstra, not because I love them as a company but because I
want to use the internet service on my Foxtel Cable, and Telstra are
the sole carrier for the service.
Generally, I find their support to be excellent (especially when it's
apparent that I'm speaking to a human being - I'll explain shortly),
and being a Mac user does not faze them. Fortunately, most internet
problems are network-related: the computer itself is rarely implicated.
The one problem with Telstra is that they have a really annoying I
mean REALLY!!) telephone robot that goes through the initial
troubleshooting steps with you. I have formed the strong opinion that
this has been set up for the sole purpose of discouraging support
calls. The only way to to subvert it is to reply to its inane
questions with gibberish so that it eventually gives up and passes you
on to a human being, at which point the service is generally first-
class.
