Likewise, my G5 2.0 DP won't sleep without manual intervention.
I've tried removing everything I could from actively running,
including startup items, and it didn't make any difference.
If anyone has any ideas I'd like to know also.
Cheers

Hi Severin, this doesn't help, but my G5 1.8 SP doesn't go to sleep
by itself either, I have to do it manually. Hence, its not the best
computer for using with my EyeTV, my mac mini will go to sleep when
its finished recording a program, but the G5 keeps chugging on.
cheers, Susan.

I am puzzled at the Sleep habits of my G5 1.8, 10.5.5.
If I select Sleep from the Apple menu it goes unambiguously into
full sleep to be awakened by hitting a key.
Energy saver is set to put displays to sleep after 7 mins (which
it does) and to put the computer to sleep after 10mins.
Additionally the disks are set to sleep whenever possible.
If I walk away from the computer it never goes properly to sleep,
the red light always shows in my USB mouse which will bring the
display back to life with a mouse movement and I can hear the
disks running.
Mail is set to check every 15 mins, Degrees Down Under refreshes
every 10 mins and Skype usually shows me online. I believe
Activity monitor should lead me to what is preventing full sleep
but am unable to interpret what I see. This is not a vital matter
but I would like to understand what is going on, comments much
appreciated.
