Hi Ronnie --

-- A sudden realization. I sometimes use the 'Ocean' setting in Google
Earth, this may set the land to black to emphasize the ocean data.
Somehow, deselecting 'Ocean' is not changing the images back to
normal. That would explain why others who do not use the 'Ocean'
feature will have had no problem.

-- If this is correct, I only need now to find out why deselecting the
'Ocean' layer is not restoring normal settings!

Cheers --

Hi Ronnie --

-- I did have 3D View "True Color (32 bit)" set.  Anisotropic
Filtering was not on high, I did reset to that, no difference.

-- Thanks for the
<http://www.gearthblog.com/blog/archives/google_earth_tips/>
reference. Using some suggestions there, I did try 'Historical
Imagery' at various dates, also with no improvement. But selecting
'View in Google Maps' did give the correct image! Can anything be
worked out from that?

-- I'm using an iMac with 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, and 10.5.7.

Hi David,

In Google Earth > Preferences, do you have 3D View "True Color (32
bit)" - Anisotropic Filtering "High" selected?

Google have released a new imagery update for Google Earth.

What computer & OS are you using. It might have something to do with
your Graphics card?
