Yes, and unfortunately, we cannot buy the iPhone GS from the Apple

seems, we are stuck with buying a locked version at carriers' prices.

Hi Gordon, they will probably be on sale at Apple Resellers here in
the West, as the iPhone 3g was. cheers, Susan.
Unless a reseller has a relationship with a carrier they cannot
sell the
iPhone. Even then, they can only sell that particular carriers
offering.
I doubt that it will end up as an outright product for resellers as
I am
sure the carriers would have an agreement with Apple. That may even
extend
to the Apple store as there is an expectation of being able to
'demonstrate'
the iPhone. I can't imagine Vodafone being happy with the outright
offer at
that pricing though. At the end of the day Apple will do what suits
them.
