Greetings! Back at our club in the States (California) we had a monthly
clinic for our members. When ever we replaced a hard drive that was shown to
be faulty we would install the faulty HD in a HD enclosure and low and
behold it mounted. This happened about 80 percent of the time. i do not know
why but we were able to recover all the data. So do not discard your old HD.
Buy a case and give it another chance.
