That gesture works fine on my MacBook Air (10.7.2). I have found that if a gesture isn't working as it should, going to System Preferences and un-ticking and re-ticking the required trackpad gesture can kick it into working correctly. Just close SysPrefs panel after un-ticking, then re-open System Preferences and tick that gesture again. If you haven't already tried that, It may work for you.
