Thanks Glenn. What I'm not sure about is whether I have 'extensive' functional requirements or not. I guess extensive isa relative term. I think so though, at least in the longer term.
When you say 'hefty', do you mean as in terms of user friendliness? As in a layman like me picking it up and running with it? I suspect my understanding of CMS vs CRM is vague, and ideally what I need is ask an unbiased somebody question 1 ... "This is what I need to do ... what type of software do I need?", and then question 2 "This is the type of software I need to engage .. what's on the market and what's my best choice?". And then think about whether I can do the rest myself on a tight time budget, or get a 3rd party involved who specialises in it. Finding people who are (i) technically excellent in the space you need them and (ii) trustworthy is a challenge in itself. Will keep reading!
