Hi Neil,
I have Adblock on Safari, and believe Flashblock is available. Used it for a while and had issues, so I disabled it. So, have a quick look for them and then maybe you can use Safari more often and not rely on Firefox. I do use Firefox for some recalcitrant sites, as required. Brian I like Firefox because of various extensions I use with it – particularly Adblock and Flashblock which cuts out a lot of the visual advertorial pollution on many sites. With Flashblock you just get an icon everywhere there would be flash content and if you actually want to see the flash content (say a relevant video you want to see) you just click on the icon to enable that particular flash item. I would think that Flashblock could greatly reduce the Firefox CPU/memory drain.
