All the accounts - mine, kids, are on apples icloud server, , hence show up on other computers although I do find that some sent emails only show up on the source. Anyway, these also get backed up via time machine on both MacPro and iMac. Presumably if an email account does get lost, it can be restored via Timemachine (less anything since last backup - 1 hr ago) hopefully nothing will ever got lost!
