I have been turning text into html. A collegue sends me text in emails. I copy
the text and paste it into TextEdit, then I copy and paste it into an html
editor. He sprinkles his text liberally with ampersand signs, &, which require
coding. To save time and effort, it is my custom to Find ‘&' and Replace All
with ‘and’ on the TextEdit page.

I hit some unknown 2-key combination accidentally, and all the text was
highlighted in a brilliant yellow colour. I clicked that away, but ever since,
the Find and Replace All does not work.

Is there some way to restore TextEdit to its former glory? In the old days,
there was usually an easily accessible .plist that could be thrown out, but I
couldn’t find one.

Hopefully,
Pat
