Ronni et al, reporting back on Yosemite 10.10.2:

Wifi issue gone, but much more obvious is the increase in operational speed - websites load faster and as a whole my laptop runs faster.

Crank up time for Word and other softwares shorter etc.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Hi Bill,

Your Query:
The only issue I found was the wiifi go to sleep malfunction. Easy to fix. Just turn off, turn on again.

Tell me that's been fixed please...

Yes it has.

*OS X Yosemite* -- The 443 to 840 MB, depending on you Mac, OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Update <http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204210> is available via Software Update.

OS X 10.10.2 promises the following:

 *

Resolves an issue that might cause Wi-Fi to disconnect — this one
has been a huge headache for many Mac users, so fingers crossed
    that it’s truly fixed

 *

Resolves an issue that might cause Web pages to load slowly

 *

Fixes an issue that could cause Spotlight to load remote email
content even when this preference is disabled in Mail

 *

Improves audio and video sync when using Bluetooth headphones

 *

Adds the capability to browse iCloud Drive in Time Machine

 *

    Improves VoiceOver speech performance

 *

Resolves an issue that could cause VoiceOver to echo characters
when entering text on a Web page

 *

Addresses an issue that could cause the input method to switch
    languages unexpectedly

 *

Improves stability and security in Safari

In addition, 10.10.2 offers a number of security updates <http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204244>, most notably hardening a variety of 2013 Macs against the Thunderstrike attack that could use Thunderbolt to hijack a Mac (see “Thunderstrike Proof-of-Concept Attack Serious, but Limited <http://tidbits.com/article/15331>,” 9 January 2015). 10.10.2 also fixes vulnerabilities in App Store logging, Bluetooth, command-line utilities, fonts, graphics drivers, PDFs, Spotlight, and more. Safari has also been updated to 8.0.3 <http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204243>, which fixes multiple memory corruption issues in WebKit that could allow a malicious Web site to execute code.

Cheers,
Ronni

The old adage "if it ain't broke don't fix it" comes to mind. Was 10.10.1 broke? The only issue I found was the wiifi go to sleep malfunction. Easy to fix. Just turn off, turn on again. Tell me that's been fixed please...

But since the Mavericks disaster I am now extremely wary of upgrades and even more wary of Apple's failure to inform its loyal market that "BEFORE you do this upgrade, make sure etc..."

But then having spent an afternoon with Windows 8 in a DFES ICV with the bells and whistles we still had the problem of having to re-boot the darn thing in order to do the printing of urgently required documents.

I agree Daniel, we can jump up and down and rant at Apple!! ;-))

Combo updates have always been my recommended way to install updates.
Lately Apple change the way things 'have always worked' to something new
without any documentation to the fact... Not good Apple, people should be
notified of changes!

Oh,..so it's me,…ok,…I'll definitely go back to my corner then,…….

(but if they've "changed" how a "Combo" update works,..then that has to be
their fault. :oP ) lol
:o)

Hi
Apple Support forums are mentioning this issue, most are saying,
Quote:
"OS X combo Update works when you have 10.10 on your system. In case you are
already having 10.10.1, you need to use the normal 10.10.2 Update. Seems like Apple
has changed the way combo updates work (or don't work). Earlier, combo update used
to work on any of the OSX versions, not any more…”

But some had success, so …

Maybe I will wait.

Hi All
Just tried the Combo Update and,
Yes, me too…
Yellow triangle, OS X Update Combined can’t be installed on this disk. This
volume does not meet the requirements for this update. Or maybe the Samsung SSD?

Time for some research.
