Hi Blitto,
I only store my iCloud mail as I have the minimum 5GB of iCloud Drive.
I use Dropbox for other files I need stored online as I have 8.75GB
Everything else I have numerous backups of.

I’ve never had any real issues using iCloud Drive, but there are others that
have.
