   Hi Loz,
   The first thing I did when I found it was not working was try other USB
   ports and then another computer.
   I liked your idea of dropping it and did a few times but it has made no
   difference.
   The port in the 7 port USB hub it was plugged into has also failed the
   port above and below it are still ok.
   Something electronic has shorted somewhere I suspect.
   I have found another for $60 on eBay, someone has obtained a lot of
   them and is selling them off.
   Coming on a PO camel from Queensland I will have to be patient.
   My 27-inch iMac is a late 2015 model running OS 10.15.7
