Aside from removed double-sided polygons and 0x0 in texture size they are 
still PIE2 in every possible way. IMO There is no point in converting them 
to PIE3.

Talking about PIEs, does anybody know what's the purpose for these models:
http://developer.wz2100.net/browser/trunk/data/base/components/weapons/projectiles
They looks like unused duplicates (they aren't used in .wrfs) for the same 
files in
http://developer.wz2100.net/browser/trunk/data/base/effects
with the exception to fxfproj.pie and fxincend.pie which are not used at 
all.
