Yes, a lot of what has changed in vapir can't easily be ported back to watir
because it relies on changes to core functionality which are not currently
desired in watir. I think that the core changes are also an improvement, but
of course my confidence in my own code is greater than other peoples', and
reviewing these changes is no small task.

I'd still like to see them merged back to watir, but, right now my time is
devoted to adding functionality that is needed by current vapir users. I
think that is a better expenditure of my time than trying to recreate
improvements I have already made to watir - just recreating them to not rely
on different improvements I have made, because nobody has time or
inclination to review those improvements.

So, for the moment, if people want the improvements that I have made and am
continuing to make, I recommend trying out Vapir.
