Question:

How will I know if my key/certificate generation fails?

At what point is it needed and what is the indication if it falls
over?

The issue is that the howto only gives the command line evocations for
using the one tool:  OpenSSL.
But I am exploring reducing the complexity of the install by using
another tool - one that is already installed. At the moment I'm
looking most closely at keytool which comes in the JAVA SDK.

So this means that I need to reverse engineer the OpenSSL command line
and figure out if I can create a command line of the same
functionality using keytool.

I am now looking at http://code.google.com/p/wave-protocol/wiki/Certificates
and I may post this question there as well.
