On this point we could require 1.8.1+, which would in turn block distros like Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Or we could leave the requirement at 1.6+ and just use the 1.8.1+ feature. That should only result as a warning for those on older systems yet still allow for the nicer features for those on newer (and could save me a bit of typing when it comes to TOCs). -- Jon A.
