After finishing Air Force technical school in Mississippi, I was stationed on the island of Okinawa. While in the Navy, I was stationed onboard the USS Yosemite (AD-19), which was a Destroyer Tender. We were on deployment in the Persian Gulf (Arabian Gulf) for five months, from October 1991-March 1992. While on deployment, our liberty ports were Italy and Greece.
