I don't have the answer either for the different keys for the theme song, but
to make it more confusing, I have the theme song script signed by Earl Hagen
and it is in the key of F. I got it autographed by him at Mayberry Days a few
years ago. Maybe after he wrote it in that key he found out that he couldn't
whistle it in that key and he is the one who whistled it for the actual
