I think the funniest part of Barn's assessment of the women at the Wiley party is the fact that - I hate to say it - Barn isn't the best looking guy in Mayberry! Part of what makes him so funny is that he is blind to his own mistakes and shortcomings, but is ruthless in his criticism of others. The only reason I think he had a girlfriend as good looking as Thelma Lou is because he wore a badge ( just a theory).
