In maybe the very first episode, Opie slips his plate of food up to his
room.
When Andy comes up to his room, he asks Opie who ate all that food, and
Opie tells him Dickie, (his bird) did.  As Andy leaves, he asks Opie does he
think
Dickie would like a slice of watermelon.
