I believe there are other service stations, it's just that our favorite
characters only patronized the one we know and love, Wally's.

Ed Sawyer bought a station in "Stranger in Town."
Mayor Stoner's brother-in-law had a station by the new highway overpass, ref.
"The Loaded Goat." There's no overpass by Wally's, so I assume this as # 3.
In the USMC episode "A Short Voyage Home," the plot has Gomer planning on using
his life savings to partner with Goober in buying a 2nd station. Possibly this
establishes a 4th facility, assuming it's not either Sawyer's or Stoner's
in-law's?

Related, in RFD's 3rd season (due to the real-life situation of production
moving to Warner Bros.' Burbank backlot), Goober relocated his gas station to
downtown Mayberry. I don't think it's established that the original was
shuttered... possibly, Goober sold it to someone, and his brand new station
makes # 5?

Subject: Gasoline Sales in Mayberry

To me, one of the most puzzling things in Mayberry is the fact that
throughout the entire 8 years of TAGS and the four seasons of Mayberry RFD,
there is but one lowly gas station to serve all its residents.
