In case some of you are thinking of making a moulage this summer, I thunk I
would give you some tips so your moulage turns out just right.

First buy a good quality bag of plaster of Paris.

Next, find some good cold clean water.

Now mix the plaster. You should use about two parts plaster to one part
water. For example, two cups of plaster mixed with one cup water. The
consistency should be like that of pancake batter, or thick motor
oil.Probably number 30 weight. It is recommended that you add the plaster
to the water and begin mixing immediately. Plaster begins to set as soon
as it comes in contact with water, so work quickly. If you use
pre-measured quantities, add the plaster to the water all at one time, and
begin stirring immediately. This will give you the best results. Stir it
for 3 to 5 minutes to get rid of all the lumps. It is now ready to pour
into the footprint.

Personally, I like to add a little food coloring as it gives the moulage a
very party-like appearance. If you want a little variety, add a little
almond extract for aroma, as the person who made the footprint probably had
dirty feet.

After the moulage has totally solidified it can be carefully moved to a lab
for analysis to determine the height and weight of the person who made the
footprint. After all tests have been concluded the moulage can then be
used as a very nice table decoration. An additional benefit of adding the
food coloring and almond extract.
