( This ) I did our 59th summer event at a Sturgeon Festival parade today and had a great time. A little boy joined me at my table while I was eating and he talked up a storm telling me how he wanted to be a policeman some day. He was 7 years old. I showed him my handcuffs and talked about the police and then told him that I had been a teacher and we talked about school. Then his mother took some pictures and said he had to go. He gave me a hug and said, "I wish you were my dad." Must be a dad missing in his life. How sad.
( That ) Now for a funny bit. I was watching a Mayberry RFD episode and Sam Jones came into Emmett's fix it shop. He handed Emmett his appliance and said, "It quit popping". Well, I could tell from where I was sitting what was wrong with it. It was a toaster.
