Here's a good discussion of the technical issues of font embedding using
css. The article references the appropriate W3C standards and also raises
the always looming legal issue of using copyrighted material.

While css makes embedding theoretically reasonable, it still isn't all that
practical. You can do it, but it's still a touch to proprietary for my
tastes.
