My t-mobile account that I use at Starbucks runs me $26 per month for
unlimited access anywhere in the US. Since I meet clients there and don't
maintain a separate office it is cheap in comparison to renting an office
even on a 'shared' office plan.

Now that they have expanded into Barnes & Nobles as well as Borders it is
even better for me but if you are in an area without much access I could see
why it wouldn't be worth it. Back in the days when it was owned by
MobileStar I had a monthly plan and didn't say online at Starbucks unless I
had a client physically present and needed to view things live. Otherwise I
worked off the server on my laptop. Back then it was $39 for unlimited local
access and only some Starbucks had it. It was $79 for unlimited US coverage
but again locations were much more limited, some Starbucks, a few hotels and
airports but that was it. Now I've got 30+ locations in my metro area and
coverage close to both my father's house and my in-laws.

Unfortunately, Starbucks uses T-Mobile which is a bit expensive. Also,
Starbucks doesn't have WiFi everywhere they have stores; where I live
(Honolulu) WiFi not available in any of the Starbucks, in fact, it is only
available at two of the Barnes & Nobles in town.
