I've done this before -- multiple ajax forms on one page -- and not had any issues. EXCEPT, I'm guessing from the names of your functions that you have an "upload" type field in there somewhere, or possibly in both forms. That is going to be an issue, since upload fields have to be treated specially. There is a cookbook example that deals with this exact case. If that's your problem, I can help to dig up a solution for you.
