ok. does the dal make large scale use of some particular py2 idioms? is it a strings (unicode in py3) vs bytes problem?
is there a work in progress of this or anything else in web3py anywhere? seems like it will be unlikely to eventuate or progress if there is no work relating to this in any official repository, or even an official place for the work to start...
