I'm new to web2py as well. Just keep it simple. Don't worry about the
super extra functional "features" you want now. I suggest just "going
with the flow". Take it slow and just keep hacking on until you get
the full grasp of web2py, (or any programming language for that
matter).
Look at others code, or watch the videos on "http://www.vimeo.com/
videos/search:web2py". Mengu did a great 70 minute video on creating a
simple blog with web2py, look at that for some ideas, seriously you
would be surprised at what you learn from it. I'm taking a few things
I learned from it to make a simple address book. Good luck, happy
