GAE recently (well a few months ago now) added a namespace feature to Big Table. I too am interested in having each web2py app run in its own namespace, but not yet been motivated to try and add that in. i suspect that what you want to do is find where the GQL gets assembled and perhaps use the app name as the namespace.
