Try the latest release of macam (0.9.0).
Who is the manufacturer, and what is the precise name of the camera?
If the camera is not recognized ("Status: No Camera"), then
send me the USB Vendor & Product IDs of the camera.
(found in the USB pane of the System Profiler with the
camera attached)
