Hi Tim,
This is not looking good for your webcam.
Are you sure that it works at all?
Make sure you try different USB ports, you should
not need to restart the Mac, or even the macam
application for that matter.
Plug the webcam in, open the System Profiler
(About this Mac -> More Info...)
Look at the USB pane, does the camera show up?
Honestly, it sounds like either the camera or the USB port
is broken. Test the USB port with some other device.
If the camera does show up System Profiler, then it is
probably OK, send me the Vendor & Product IDs.

In the supported camera list it says that it should be working.
