Hi Donald,
I can think of two things:
- the macam application is still running (you must quit before using
Skype, but I think you know this)
- perhaps you clicked the "Disable" checkbox in the "settings" drawer
of the macam application, if so, uncheck
You can also use the HackTVCarbon application (a very simple viewer/
recorder).
I like to use this to check the installation of the component.

I can do all the little tweaks to the video properties (gamma,

preference file exists, OSX thinks that the macam component is in
use by another program because I cannot delete it by emptying the
Trash. I believe this is why Skype fails to recognize the camera---
it thinks something else has taken control of it.
Can I provide further information on this problem to help you out?
