GNOME's bugilla has several different 'states' for patches. See for

Perhaps a similar structure could be used?

That's very interesting! Do you happen to know if GNOME uses a modified version of Bugzilla, or if that is just a feature of the newer version of Bugzilla that we're yet to update to?
