welcome to weblocks, and thanks for the rundown of the tutorials out there. 
clearly, we need to do better.

what do you think would be more useful, a video or a blog format?

ISTR some of the lispcast episodes were dedicated to weblocks.. have you 
seen those?

And here is obakechan's original blog app extended, but it suffers from the 
same lack of explanatory text. It does attempt to answer a common 
navigation-related issue people seem to have with weblocks, although I don't 
know if it succeeds.

weblocks has changed quite a bit, and quicklisp makes setup easier. I think 
the time is ripe for a new wave of tutorials!
